30um InGaAs Avalanche Photodiode - The LAPD 1550-30R

OSI Laser Diode Inc introduces the latest detector in the avalanche photodiode (APD) family, the LAPD 1550-30R.
The low-noise, high sensitivity, 30um indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) mesa structure joins the company’s 75 and 200 um APD series. The high speed LAPD 1550-30R operates at 3.5 GHz and features a broad voltage breakdown curve of 30 V(minimum) to 40 V(maximum) with a typical response of 37 volts.
Designed for applications in range-finding, optical time-domain reflectometers (OTDRs), and high-sensitivity line receivers, the LAPD 1550-30R is housed in a hermetically sealed 3-pin TO46 package with a lens cap. OSI Laser Diode’s low noise, 30 micron InGaAs APD module is ROHS compliant and operates from 1260 nm to 1650 nm with a typical operational wavelength at 1550 nm. The operating temperature ranges from -40 degrees to 85 degrees C, with a non-operating, storage temperature range from -40 degrees to 100 degrees C.

OSI Laser Diode Inc introduces new packaging options for the CVD High Power Laser line. The innovative and compact package features coaxial cable construction which permits a fiber option for lasers in a much smaller footprint than the standard TO5F housing. LDI’s new fiber coaxial packaging is available for 850nm, 905nm, and 1550nm single-chip and sacked devices.

OSI Laser Diodes new high power fiber laser product packaging is designed for stability and high bandwidth capability. The product is ideal for use in optical sensors, cloud measurement, range finding, and industrial applications.

1550nm High Power Pulsed Laser Diode - SCW 1532-500R

OSI Laser Diode Inc introduces the SCW 1532-500R high power, pulsed laser diode module that features power higher than 500 mW and operates at 1550nm. It is ideal for use in optical spectrum analyzers (OSAs) and optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs). The 14-pin butterfly package with an industry standard pin-out offers excellent pulse drift performance and high stability. The 1550 nm high power laser diode module is the first in a series of three devices. Two more modules with 1310 nm and 1625 nm wavelengths, respectively, are in development and will be released soon.

The laser diode is optically coupled to an SMF fiber pigtail and includes a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) and an electrically isolated temperature sensing thermistor. Other features of the 1550 nm pulsed diode module include optical power at 500 mW, a threshold current of 70 mA, and a typical forward voltage of 2V to a max of 3V. For added convenience, standard connectors are optional, making the new device easy to integrate into an existing or a new optical test and measurement system where high peak pulsed optical power is required.

OSI Laser Diode’s new device offers operating temperature ranges from 0 to 65 degrees C and storage temperature (non-operational) rangers from -40 degrees C to 875 degrees C.
